Now I normally don’t find much interest in the casual waste a few minutes then move on type of games. However the Saturday before Easter my family was talking about this game on Facebook call Farm Town. At first I simple ignored it, but for some reason I gave it a try and I have to admit I am really enjoying it. I am currently a level 18 farmer and should be 19 tomorrow, which means a bigger piece of land.
What I like most about this game is the many ways to play it. You can go with the ‘I want to make it all pretty’ way like most my family. I mean my mom has one of the nicest looking farms I have come across. Or you can do the grinder way. The way to happiness is through levels. Which is the way I am playing, basically this method is to try and get the most experience the quickest. Now I also want the highest return on my investment so I always plant strawberries. What is nice about the strawberries is they grow in 1 day and give you the most return even when compared to the produce that takes longer to grow. Recently they have added more items to grow including grapes which only take 4 hours to mature, but unless you are going to be at your computer shortly afterwards I suggest staying away from the grapes. Anything that stays long in the ground sooner or later goes to waste and you won’t get any coins for the items.
The game is fun semi social and although addicting it doesn’t take a lot of time if you don’t want it to. So come join me in Farm Town

Yea I know I am late but that is because I wanted a chance to play a lot of the new features before I can here and talked about them.
So it has been a few days since the April update went live. This is the same update that two months ago we were promised. And then we heard nothing until right before it was released. You will remember I posted a video a few weeks back of the Zaishen Menagerie. A place to collect pets. Something I personally was very excited to see. It is near perfect. You can bring any pet any level and they will add it to the menagerie, if it is level 20 and you release it to the menagerie they will pay you 100 gold, yea not a lot in Guild Wars standard but hey better then a kick in the rear. The pet type will now be lose in you own little personal zoo. Not only will you see this pet type, but also baby version of them. Nothing like seeing 3 black Moas and maybe 3 more baby ones. The only thing I did not like about the Menagerie is you can not bring visitors to your zoo. I know why they did this to stop people from cheating the system, but they could have done this by making the pets not tamable unless it was realeased by keeper guy and have him not be there unless you are the only player, but oh well.
Another big update was storage options. Every character now created gets a total of 5 bag slots. The new slot is for an equipment bag. You can buy for 2.5k a small bag that lets you hold 5 pieces of armor or weapons. Basicly moving these items out of your main pack. You can get bigger versions of the bag, but not from a normal merchant. You have to use Zaishen coins which you get from doing Zaishen quests.
Zaishen Quests are the next big update. Basicly the Zaishen order set forth three challenges a day. One is a mission, the other is a boss fight and final challenge is PvP. For the first two you get more coins for doing it in hard mode or completing the bonus parts of a mission. For the PvP you get more coincs for winning more. What I like about this is it brings a spread out player base to a focus point or two for a day and you can get some good groups and have some fun without using Heros.
Arena net has also added the ability to change yourself, you can change your name, your look or even your sex. Minor stuff, but something people are really enjoying.
Next update is the Traveler you can read about the history of the traveler but the idea is he is coming out of a self imposed exile and is trying to find a sense of peace again in a world that is much different then what he knew before the searing, and he needs your help. He is traveling around Tyria, or at least on Tyria so far, remembering his past and building his future. He is looking for items to help him do just that and he is giving some really cool gifts if you can help. Items so good that you can only get 5 a week per account, oOf course after that week he moves to a new location.
Now to end this I want to go back to storage, because Arena Net has now made it possible to get more storage. For $9.95 you can add an extra storage tab to your account. You can buy a maximize of 4 extra tabs, but that is not all they have also made it possible to get a tab for free. So get your free storage today because come May 31 you won’t be able to get the free tab.

As we start off our group has become a little cocky. After all they have beaten the level boss and lat few battles were a cake wake. The trap filled room although annoying did little to hinder our adventures and the animal pit had made them a new friend in Snuffles the dire boar. So it is a little understandable that the group made the choice to split. And by choice I mean the rouge went one way while the rest of the group went the other. The swordmage followed the rouge just knowing that with the rouge’s luck he was going to find the bigger fight. And of course wherever Tagon, the rouge, goes Surina and her pet imp are going to follow.
So as the rouge went north the rest of the group went south, from the south the group faced a group of Gnolls some Teiflings and even a Balgra, which was soon locked in mortal combat with Snuffles. To the north the group found a few Gnolls and pack of Hyenas. And although the battle at some points becomes a little sketchy I feel it was the right choice to split up and make quick work of the enemy groups. It was a long battle but honestly we were pretty much winning the whole time. Snuffles managed to keep the only real worry locked in a room as he and the Balgra traded blows. Next week (assuming a get internet connection in a hotel) the group plans to start off and end this evil that has rooted itself in the Thunderspire.
Now the DM thinks we have one or two more nights and then the loaded dice pass to me as I begin DMing the next campaign. Although I feel like I have all I need to be ready I am a little nervous. Delmar and KC have done such a great job and I am worried I won’t do as well as they did. So any advice out there let me know.

Posted by David in : DnD 4th Edition, Games , add a commentAnother great night in DnD on Saturday, we started off making the choice of which of the three doors we were going to enter. The most logical choice of course is the closest one. I also felt that this door which we had walked past earlier in the dungeon was nothing more than another prisoner cell. So we would quickly open see nothing and then move on. Instead what I found was a small room with a curtain near the back which separated the much bigger room. The larger room had a number of pillars that reached from floor to ceiling each carved with demonic faces. Having lead the group with careful stealth tactics I was the first to come in close contact with the pillars. The pillars it seems wanted to be left alone and attempted to attack me with waves of magical energy. After a few such attacks on the group we made the choice to run through the room as quickly as possible only to find more curtains at the back of this room. Upon entering this area we were faced with two guardian skeletons. These two proved to be little trouble and were quickly dispatched. Of course the pillars seemed to not be affected by this and attacked our cleric causing her to disappear. Quickly afterwards the sword mage noticed a hand print on the alter and after pushing the cleric returned. Of course on this alter sat a mask carved of fine wood in the resemblance of Baphomet. The Warlock, Kelimbor, was brave enough to not only touch the mask but to put it on. To his relieve the mask did him no harm and in fact granted him darkvision…of course as a half elf this is only a slight improvement. The group once again runs ask quickly as possible to get back out of the room without any major issues.
With only two more doors visible to the group, they again make the choice to go through the closest one. Again Tagon leads the way attempting to stealth into the room unnoticed. What I saw was honestly the holy grail of ‘let’s see how the DM handles this one!‘ What I saw was a dire boar chained to the floor surrounded by four hyenas. The boar was injured and had arrow shafts sticking out of his side. On the other side of the room were four gnoll archers behind hay bales the divided the room. Have succeeded in entering the room unnoticed I attacked the nearest hyena starting the battle. I then moved myself into position to attempt to get on the boar and set him free. Now the boar was hurt and angry making my first attempt a failure. At this time the rest of the party had entered the room and that is when things got a little weird. The Boar upon seeing our dwarf fighter, Beorn started doing what it could to get to the dwarf as if drawn to him. Of course as he was chained to the floor and he could not move far he made the choice to attack one of the hyenas that had been waiting for him to die. Of course with his attention on the Beorn I now had the chance to get behind the boar. Leaping into the air I landed on his back and quickly pick the lock that had held him to the floor. Now it is hard for me to admit that maybe I don’t always make the right choice. This however was a great choice! I had a mount! Ok so it didn’t listen to me and honestly I think it wanted me off, or at least that is the idea I got from all the thrashing that nearly threw me from his back, but here I sat the crafty Halfling rouge on the back of a Dire Boar! Now for the rest of the battle as my friends made quick work of the hyenas and gnolls I did all I could to try and take some sort of control of this great beast. But all he seemed to want was to get to Beorn. Near the end of the battle that I largely sat out of as I hung on for dear live with the help of the cleric Zenobia the boar had stopped trying to get me off his back and I shot a cross bow bolt from atop my ride landing a critical hit on the last remaining enemy killing him as the bolt sank in to his chest. With nothing else standing in his way the boar started to sniff at Beorn pack. It was at this point that Beorn let us know that he had been asked by a dwarf in the inn to find his pet dire boar name…wait for it…snuffles. I mean who names a beast such as this snuffles, and why Beorn didn’t let me know that the boar had an owner, before I tried to claim it as mine is unknown. The dwarf from the inn had give Beorn a shirt that the boar would know which is why he was trying to get into the pack he could smell the shirt.
After this the group made the choice to make camp and heal one more time before wiping the well of demons clean, of that story will have to wait until next week.
